Nostalgia
Remember when? you ask, that far-off look in your eyes.
Those days were better, people were happier.
Life was so much less complicated.
Though it may not have seemed so at the time,
We all laughed longer and played harder.
Love was simpler too.
I like you, do you like me back?
Giggles behind school books and school bus seats.
Letters passed written in purple ink
And decorated with little hearts and flowers.
Holding hands and sitting next to each other in the cafeteria.
Do you think he'll ask me to the dance?
I think I'm in love, or it is just infatuation?
Am I old and mature enough to know the difference?
Those were the days.
